Pandian Throws ‘Quit’ Challenge

Brajrajnagar: 5T Chairman and second top leader in BJD, V K Pandian today announced that he would “Quit Politics” if Naveen Patnaik fails to take oath as Chief Minister for 6th term on June 9 with three-fourth majority.

While addressing a large gathering election rally here in Jharsuguda District, Shri Pandian claimed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will take oath for sixth consecutive time on June 9.

“I will take”sanyas ” from”rajniti ” (quit politics) if Naveen is unable to be sworn in as CM with 75% majority on June 9,” he announced.

Asking the Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to make a similar announcement, BJD Leader said the Union Minister should also declare that he would take sanyas from politics if the saffron party fails to form Government in Odisha after the coming polls.

Shri Pandian lashed out at BJP for the party’s claim about forming the next government in Odisha after the ensuing elections.

In his reaction, Shri Pradhan said no question arises of his quitting politics. “One day, we used to lose our deposits, even then we were fighting elections with all efforts and strength. Today, we are the biggest political party in the whole world. We have formed the government at Delhi and will form government in Odisha also, our captain has already announced it,” the BJP Veteran said.

Lashing out at BJD Leader, Union Minister said, “Those who do not have the slightest knowledge about the history of Odisha, are making such statements. The Prime Minister said that BJP will be the government in Odisha this time. Either they do not know about the history of Odisha, or they do not want to know it. Popular leaders like Biju Patnaik had contested from five seats at once and had lost all Assembly seats. But Biju Patnak did not leave politics for his defeat.”
