Bhubaneswar: Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC), a prominent club in Odisha, has recently elected its new office bearers for another three-year term. Sanjeeb Panda, IPS, ADG, will continue to lead the club as President.
He is joined by Sri Lalit Das, IPS (R) as the new Vice President, Sri Ajay Kumar Nanda as Secretary, and Sri Sibasis Mohanty as Treasurer.
The election, held on July 13, 2025, saw 11 candidates vie for 10 executive committee (EC) member positions. Members cast their votes both physically and electronically. The newly elected EC members are S Manoj Prusty, Nihar Ranjan Giri, Santosh Kumar Rout, Biswasima Mohanty, Manas Ranjan Gauda, and Soumya Ranjan Biswal.
BCAC is known for its dedication to promoting cycling and running culture across Odisha, regularly organizing events like the Golden Triangle Cycling Championship and the Puri Beach Marathon.
The club boasts an impressive history of undertaking challenging cycling expeditions, including thrice conquering the Manali, Leh, Khardungla route in the Himalayas (2014, 2018, 2022). Their international ventures include the Bhubaneswar to Bhutan Cycling Expedition (2015), Cuttack to Kathmandu Cycling Expedition (2017), Vietnam to Cambodia (2016), and the Sri Lanka Cycling Tour (2019).
Most recently, members successfully completed a trek to the Everest Base Camp in Nepal, showcasing the club’s diverse adventure pursuits.
