Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja announced a series of new initiatives to significantly expand alumni participation and involvement in school development. The announcement came following the first Governing Body Meeting of Panchasakha Shiksha Setu (PSS), which he chaired on Saturday.
The meeting, held in the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall, focused on reviewing the progress of programs initiated after the first and second Executive Committee meetings. So far, 1,569 projects worth ₹26 crore have been approved across 25 districts, combining alumni contributions with matching government funds.
Shri Ahuja praised the organization’s ongoing work, underscoring the vital role of alumni-led initiatives in strengthening the state’s education ecosystem.
Smt. Shalini Pandit, Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department and Vice-Chairperson of PSS, emphasized the importance of sustained alumni engagement as a crucial factor in school development. Alumni contributions are considered invaluable for strengthening school infrastructure and enhancing the quality of education.
