Padhee Monitors Plane Crash

Bhubaneswar: Principal Secretary Commerce & Transport, Usha Padhee stated on Saturday that the state government is closely monitoring the situation following an aircraft accident in the Jalda area of Rourkela, Sundargarh district, which occurred on January 10.

During her visit to the accident site, Smt. Padhee reviewed ground operations alongside district administration, police, and departmental officials. Her assessment focused on rescue efforts, medical responses, and the safety protocols established immediately after the crash.

She noted that the Chief Minister is personally overseeing the situation and has directed officials to prioritize medical aid and administrative coordination for those impacted.

According to Smt. Padhee, emergency medical facilities at the district level have been activated, and a specialized two-member medical team is currently monitoring the injured.

The two individuals involved in the accident, Savita Agrawal and Sunil Agrawal, have been airlifted to Mumbai for advanced treatment at their own request. Officials confirmed that both remain in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.

To determine the cause of the incident, teams from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau have arrived at the site to conduct inspections.

The Principal Secretary remains in coordination with these agencies to manage the investigation and ensure safety protocols are strictly followed.
