Bhubaneswar: Odisha is rapidly approaching its paddy procurement goals for the Kharif Marketing Season 2025-26, with 80 percent of the total state target already completed across all 30 districts.
The drive has gained significant momentum, as 13 districts have already exceeded 90 percent of their individual targets. Leading this surge is Subarnapur, which has achieved a state-high 98 percent of its goal by procuring 3,76,556 quintals of paddy.
Other top performers include Bargarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Koraput, Nuapada, and Sambalpur, all of which have crossed the 95 percent mark.
The efficiency of the current season is also evident in districts like Boudh, Deogarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, and Rayagada, which have all successfully surpassed the 90 percent threshold.
This accelerated pace is backed by a substantial increase in procurement volumes across sixteen districts, including Cuttack, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj, compared to the previous Kharif season.
Farmer participation has seen a massive spike, with approximately 65,000 more farmers selling their produce at Mandis compared to the same date last year. To date, 13,04,938 farmers have received a combined 17,329.2 Crore in Minimum Support Price and Input Assistance.
This high-speed processing is supported by robust monitoring and a transparent payment system designed to prevent distress sales. To maintain this efficiency and address concerns immediately, the government continues to offer support through the 1967 toll-free helpline.
