Padajatra From 2 October

 Bhubaneswar: It seems that the Governing Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has started preparation for the Mission 2024. The party is going to organize a massive month-long ‘Jan Sampark Padajatra’ from the Gandhi Jayanti, 2 October to 2 November  this year across the State to woo the voters.

Chief Minister and BJD President Naveen Patnaik on Monday wrote a letter to his party functionaries including MPs, MLAs, District Presidents, Observers and head of all wings of the BJD.

During the Padajatra, the party will celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Sashtri Jayanti on 2 October,  birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Dash on 9 October and birth anniversary of Jaiprakash Narayan on 11October.

Starting from district level, the Padajatra will be organized in every ward and panchayat throughout the State, Mr.Patnaik said in his letter. He asked party observers, MLAs and District Presidents to ensure fruitful organization of the programs in their jurisdictions.    

The office bearers of various wings the BJD such as Biju Mahila Janata Dal, Minority Cell, Biju Yuva Janata Dal, Cooperation, Law, Biju Krushak Janata Dal, Biju Chhatra Janata Dal will actively participate in the padayatra and ensure participation of a large number of people in the rallies and meetings.

The Padajatra will remain closed on all festival days like Dussehra. During the month-long program, the party workers and leaders will reach every household to inform them about the developmental schemes and programs of the BJD government.

Besides, social welfare programs like blood donation camp and plantation drive will be organized during the month.

The Chief Minister himself will launch the program on 2 October here while on the concluding day on 2 November, all the BJD leaders and workers at district-level will take pledge that they will devote their entire life for the development and welfare of the State and its people.
