Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Utkarsh Odisha Conclave, the State Government today signed eight MoU with Singapore-based agencies for collaborations in different fields including industrial infrastructure, green hydrogen, petrochemicals, FinTech, and advanced skilling.
The MoUs were signed in presence of Singaporen President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with several State ministers and senior officers at World Skill Centre.
In a social media post on X, the Chief Minister said it will pave the way in making a new chapter in the growing collaboration between Singapore and Odisha. During the visit, key discussions and presentations were held, focusing on skill development, industrial parks, renewable energy, semiconductors, IT, culture, and connectivity, he said.
A series of MoUs were signed, paving the way for transformative projects in industrial infrastructure, green hydrogen, petrochemicals, FinTech, and advanced skilling, Majhi said.
“His Excellency toured our state-of-the-art labs, interacted with students and instructors, and appreciated Odisha’s commitment to fostering innovation and technical excellence. We are excited about the immense potential of this partnership to drive Odisha’s growth and development to new heights. Together, we aim to create a brighter future for our youth and industries,” Majhi said.
The first MoU was signed between the Skill Development and Technical Education (SD&TE) department and ITE Education Services (ITEES), Singapore, to further enhance the skill development ecosystem in the state, official sources said.
Another MoU was signed between the SD&TE Department and ITEES to extend cooperation in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET). It is expected to provide TVET landscape for the semiconductor industry in Odisha through introduction of semiconductor related skilling in Odisha.
The third agreement was signed between NTU Singapore, GRIDCO Limited, and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar to advance R&D in sustainable energy technologies while another MoU was signed between Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Private Limited (SGHIPL) and Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (IPICOL) to explore the development of production facility for green hydrogen and its derivatives.
The fifth MoU between Sembcorp Development (SCD) and Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) was signed to undertake a feasibility study for industrial park development in Odisha.
Another pact was sealed between Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) and the Odisha government on setting up an Insurtech Hub Global Capabilities Centre while Singapore-based Surbana Jurong collaborated with Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) to provide consultancy services to the State of Odisha for developmental projects.
