Bhubaneswar: On the completion of 100 days of the Government of Odisha, Odisha University of Health Sciences has signed agreements with national and international bodies to bring comprehensive improvement in the field of medical education, research and healing, Said Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs, Electronics and Information Technology.
Speaking as the chief guest at the signing ceremony held at The Odisha University of Health Sciences, Minister Dr. Mahaling said that the state government is committed to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digital healthcare mission to the grassroots level. He said medical colleges will be set up in all the districts of the state and talcher and Kandhamal medical colleges will be made operational soon.
For the first time, the Odisha government is going to launch PhD courses for medical students in the state. Minister Dr Mahaling said it was a big achievement of the government.
Odisha University of Health Sciences in the presence of Minister Dr. Mahaling signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Sri Sri University, IIT, Bhubaneswar and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar to improve the field of healthcare education, research and management.
Similarly, Odisha University of Health Sciences is going to have world renowned academicians such as Professor Dr Rustavo CarValo of Brazil, Prof. Dr. Adarsh Chaudhary of Medanta Hospital, New Delhi, Prof. Dr. Anil Agarwal of GB Panth Hospital, New Delhi, Prof. Dr. Vikram Kate of JIPM, Pondicherry, Dr. Vikram Kate, Professor, GTM, Vishakhapatnam.
With the signing of the Agreement, there will be a great improvement in the quality of education and research of the students. It will be accompanied by integrated learning, knowledge sharing between teachers and students, integrated learning programmes and management programmes.
Prof. Dr. Manas Ranjan Sahu, Vice-Chancellor, Odisha University of Health Sciences expressed hope that this will open a new chapter in the field of health education and research in the state.
