Pact For Adventure Tourism

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has officially signaled its ambition to become the leading adventure tourism destination in Eastern India following the launch of a new digital gateway and the formalization of key national partnerships.

Deputy Chief Minister Shrimati Pravati, Chief Secretary Shrimati Anu Garg and Secretary Tourism, Shri Balwant Singh graced the occasion.

DCM Shrimati Parida introduced the Go-Adventure portal at Lok Seva Bhavan on Tuesday, marking a strategic shift toward modernizing the state’s travel sector through streamlined regulation and international safety standards.

During the event, the state government solidified its commitment to land and air-based sports by signing Memoranda of Understanding with the Indian Mountaineering Foundation and the Aero Club of India. These agreements are designed to ensure that activities like trekking, rock climbing, paragliding, and paramotoring are governed by rigorous safety audits and national aviation norms. The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that while the state is expanding into high-energy experiences, safety remains the essential foundation of the expansion.

Chief Secretary Anu Garg framed the initiative as part of a broader economic roadmap aiming for the Utkarsh Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047 goals. She noted that the growth of adventure tourism is expected to revitalize local economies and provide significant employment opportunities for the youth. The government’s approach encourages all departments to integrate tourism growth into their core functions, promoting a collective effort to attract both domestic and international investors.

The newly launched Go-Adventure portal is set to function as a one-stop shop for entrepreneurs, simplifying the registration, verification, and licensing processes. To demonstrate this commitment to ease of doing business, several domestic operators were issued Licence to Operate and Recognition to Set Up certificates during the ceremony.

The event saw participation from prominent figures including former Union Minister and Aero Club of India President Rajiv Pratap Rudy, alongside senior officials from the Tourism, Sports, and Fire Services departments. By bringing together technical expertise from organizations like the National Institute of Water Sports and the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, Odisha aims to create a secure and professional environment that encourages tourists to choose the state for their next adventure.
