OTDC Eyes More Footfalls

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) celebrated in 45th Foundation Day here on 3 September at Panthanivas.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Women Child Development, Mission Energy and Tourism, Pravati Parida was the Chief Guest and mentioned OTDC as a well-established brand in Odisha. 

She was given warm welcome by Team Tourism headed by Balwant Singh, Secretary Tourism and Chairman OTDC.

Shrimati Parida said Odisha has unlimited opportunities in the field of tourism and she opined that the economic growth of Odisha is closely related to its tourism sector.

She appealed to all of us to work together to make Odisha a Tourism Hub for the whole of India. 

By providing delicious food, cleanliness, sanitation and state-of-the-art facilities, we can provide a wonderful experience to the tourists, said Deputy Chief Minister Shrimati Parida.

Balwant Singh, Secretary, Tourism and Chairman OTDC pointed out that  the Corporation has played a major role in setting up the infrastructure of each tourist destination of the State Tourism. 

Shri Singh said OTDC and Department of Tourism will extend efforts to provide high quality services to the tourists coming to Odisha.

On this occasion, 14 units of OTDC were awarded for providing excellent services to tourists. 

Puri Panthnivas was awarded for highest annual income, Gopalpur Panthnivas for best tourist-friendly unit, and Rourkela for best environment.  Apart from this, the best 22 meritorious employees of hospitality, housekeeping, engineering and other departments of OTDC have been awarded.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shrimati Parida inaugurated a bakery van on behalf of OTDC.

OTDC General Manager Lalatendu Sahu delivered the welcome address and the President of OTDC Employees Union Benudhar Patra highlighted the issue on welfare of the employees.  

Directors of OTDC Management Board and other officials were present in this program.
