ORAS Strike Hits Admin

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Rajaswa Amala Sangh(ORAS) is currently on an indefinite strike across the state. The strike, which began on August 11, 2025, is in protest against the State Government’s delay in fulfilling a 10-point charter of demands.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Suresh Pujari, has appealed to agitating members of ORAS to call off their strikes and return to work.

The key demands of the ORAS include:

  • Raising the basic pay of district-level revenue clerks to Level-9 under the ORSP-2017 rules.
  • Creating new posts and restructuring the system based on data submitted by district collectors.
  • Granting 100% promotion opportunities within the Odisha Revenue Service cadre.

The ORAS has accused the State Government of a “step-motherly attitude” and of ignoring their long-pending demands, despite repeated appeals and discussions.

They had previously staged a symbolic protest by wearing black badges while on duty before commencing the full work stoppage. The strike has reportedly affected government and public services in various districts.
