Bhubaneswar: In a significant move toward employee welfare, the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Limited (OHPC) has formalised a partnership with Union Bank of India (UBI) to provide customized salary account benefits. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at Lokseva Bhawan in the presence of Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy and ACS Energy, E&IT, Shri Vishal Dev.
This was an innovative effort taken up by Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, ACS Energy and CMD of OHPC. Other notable attendees included senior Directors from OHPC and regional leadership from Union Bank of India, including Shri Harekrushna Das, General Manager and Zonal Head of UBI.
The newly introduced Union Super Salary Account offers a robust suite of insurance and lifestyle benefits specifically designed for OHPC staff. Key highlights of the agreement include a substantial personal accident insurance cover of 1.20 crore per employee, supplemented by a 20 lakh term life insurance policy. Additionally, the package provides an annual hospital cash benefit of 30,000.
Beyond insurance, the agreement facilitates zero-balance savings accounts equipped with RuPay Select debit cards. These cards carry their own accidental insurance worth 15 lakh and offer lifestyle perks valued at 75,000 annually. These perks include complimentary airport lounge access, quarterly health check-ups, and waiver of transaction fees.
Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Shri Vishal Kumar Dev both expressed their appreciation for the initiative, noting that such collaborations are vital for the financial security and overall well-being of the state’s energy sector workforce. The formal signing was carried out by Shri Gagan Bihari Moharana, SGM (Finance) for OHPC, and Shri N. Barik, DGM for Union Bank of India.
