Bhubaneswar: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Wildlife, Susanta Nanda is serious about the forest fire.
Shri Nanda is continuously monitoring forest fire in Sanctuaries and Tiger Reserves and other Wildlife Habitats.
Similipal National Sanctuary is in his foremost mind as he is visiting the Tiger Reserve continuously.
For timely extinguishing of wildfire in Simlipal Tiger Reserve (STR), the State Wildlfie Organization has deployed ODRAF personnel to assist in fire fighting inside the jungle.
“Till Saturday, Simlipal sanctuary had received fire alerts for 115 points this year & all were extinguished by our green soldiers in time before it could cause any damage in scorching heat,” Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) wildlife, Susanta Nanda informed on X.
Fire breaks out at 18 points in the north and 25 points in south of Similipal sanctuary. A 25-member team of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and Fire Service department engaged to douse the flames, informed STR Deputy Director Sai Kiran said.
He termed the fire as manmade and said the situation is under control.
The staff are in readiness to combat any eventuality and STR is in safe hands, he said.
