Odisha’s Prayers Follow Naveen To Mumbai

Bhubaneswar: A palpable sense of concern mixed with fervent hope filled the air around Naveen Niwas and Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport today, as a large number of supporters, BJD leaders, and party workers gathered to present their good wishes to former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Shri Patnaik, who is departing for Mumbai for a cervical arthritis procedure on June 22, was met with an emotional outpouring of good wishes for his swift recovery and early return to Odisha.

His childhood friend and BJD Veteran Ananga Udaya Singh Deo talked to him and wished him early recover and good health. Shri Patnaik thanked Shri Singh Deo for his good wishes.

From early morning, well-wishers began congregating outside Naveen Niwas, the official residence of the BJD supremo. Many carried placards and offered prayers for their beloved leader’s health.

As Shri Patnaik emerged, he was greeted by a sea of familiar faces, all eager to convey their support. The atmosphere was charged with heartfelt sentiments, reflecting the deep emotional connect that millions of Odias have with their long-serving former Chief Minister.

Senior BJD Vice President, Debi Prasad Mishra, who will be managing entire affairs of Biju Janata Dal in absence of BJD Supremo was all along standing by the side of former Chief Minister.

Upon his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, the scene was no different. Senior BJD leaders, who have been entrusted with the party’s day-to-day affairs in his absence, were present to see him off. Senior Vice President, Debi Prasad Mishra and Party workers, too, thronged the airport, creating a strong visual of solidarity and affection.

Many expressed their conviction that Shri Patnaik would overcome this health challenge and return swiftly to continue serving the people of Odisha, particularly as the BJD navigates its new role as the opposition.

The public display of support underscores the enduring influence of Naveen Patnaik, even after his party’s recent electoral defeat. It highlights the personal loyalty and reverence he commands within the BJD cadre and among a significant section of the populace.
