Bhubaneswar: The Odisha AI Summit 2025, scheduled for December 19th and 20th at the State Convention Centre in Lok Sabha Bhavan, represents a strategic move to position Odisha as India’s premier artificial intelligence hub.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state is integrating technology with regional identity through initiatives like the Odia language donation program, which aims to make Odia script more digitally accessible.
Principal Secretary Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Vishal Kumar Dev presented details about the AI Summit in Odisha.
Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling emphasized that this summit is part of a broader national momentum, following regional events across eight states including Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh. The state’s approach is built upon three pillars and seven cycles of AI, designed to drive large-scale population adoption and technological excellence.
To support this vision, the state has introduced the Odisha AI Policy 2025. This framework is designed to be investor-friendly and responsible, complementing existing policies for Fintech and Global Capability Centers. With a dedicated budget of 20 crore rupees, the government views AI as the primary engine to achieve the goals of Odisha Excellence 2036 and the broader vision of a Developed India by 2047.
