Bhubaneswar: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Odisha has reached its final phase, with only four days remaining to conclude this extensive democratic exercise. Spearheaded by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Shri R Santhanagopalan, the campaign has successfully intensified its reach across every corner of the state to ensure that all eligible voters are covered.
According to updates from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Shri R Santhanagopalan is regularly monitoring the implementation of the campaign to ensure absolute seamlessness. Through his systematic reviews, the election administration has managed to successfully distribute voter verification forms to 99.93 percent of voters across the state. In terms of numbers, these forms have already been delivered directly to 3,33,07,545 citizens. The field machinery is now pushing heavily during these final four days to achieve a perfect 100 percent distribution rate.
Beyond form distribution, the revision drive is placing massive emphasis on data accuracy, transparency, and digitization. Under the ongoing supervision of the CEO, data digitization for 93.02 percent of voters has already been completed. This accounts for the successful digital updating of files for 3,10,68,884 voters so far.
To maximize community participation and guarantee that no eligible voter is left out, crucial coordination meetings were organized between Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) across all assembly constituencies. These meetings focused on resolving ground-level challenges and aligning field efforts for the final stretch of the drive.
The primary objective of the Chief Electoral Officer remains the preparation of a completely transparent, error-free, and updated voter list. Thanks to the relentless dedication of the grassroots field staff and active public cooperation, the massive administrative task is tracking toward successful completion within the scheduled timeline. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has confirmed that any remaining verification and data work will be completed on a war footing over the next four days. This collaborative synchronization among administrative teams and field officials has laid down a solid foundation for a more robust and transparent electoral framework in Odisha.
