Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi convened a high-level review meeting at Loksabha Bhawan to streamline preparations and tighten security measures ahead of the high-profile visit of President Shrimati Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the state on June 19 and 20. The visit marks the successful completion of two years of the state government and twelve years of the central government.
The review meeting was attended by the Advisor to the Chief Minister Shri Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Shrimati Anu Garg, Development Commissioner Shri Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Saswat Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary of Home and Information and Public Relations Department Hemant Sharma, DGP Y B Khurania, and Intelligence Director Shri R P Koche, Director General Crime Branch, Vinayatosh Mishra, Special Secretary Home, Shri R P Sharma, ADGP Shri Sanjay Kumar among other senior officer.
The participants formulated a comprehensive blueprint for the visit, with a specific focus on security protocols, traffic management, and coordination during the scheduled mega public rallies and VVIP movements. The Chief Minister directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the event is executed without any lapses.
According to the itinerary reviewed in the meeting, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will arrive in her home district of Mayurbhanj on June 19 for a two-day visit. A significant aspect of the visit is that the President will spend her birthday on June 20 at her birthplace and initial workplace, Rairangpur. The state government and the local administration have made special arrangements to welcome the President to her home soil.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to reach Rairangpur on June 20 to join the President in the state-level mega celebrations. Both leaders will share the stage and address a massive public gathering at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district. Chief Minister Shri Majhi expressed optimism that this joint visit would significantly accelerate the developmental pace of Odisha.
The visit is also slated to witness the foundation stone laying and inauguration of developmental projects worth thousands of crores for Odisha and Mayurbhanj district. These include long-awaited railway infrastructure and a mega coal gasification project. Additionally, the President is scheduled to inaugurate various healthcare development initiatives at the Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital on June 19.
