Odisha Police Honors MGM CMD

Bhubaneswar: In a significant recognition of corporate leadership and social responsibility, Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, the Chairman and Managing Director of MGM Group, was felicitated at the Naman 4.0 program held at the 7th Battalion Police Ground in Bhubaneswar on December 18, 2025. Shrimati Seema Mohanty, Director MGM Groups graced the occasion.

The event, organized by the Naman Foundation in collaboration with the Commissionerate Police and Taranga, was a dedicated tribute to the indomitable spirit of the Odisha Police and their families.

The felicitation was led by Sri Prithiviraj Harichandan, the Minister for Law, Works, and Excise. The ceremony took place in the distinguished presence of the Director General of Police, Shri Y B Khurania, and the Commissioner of Police for Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, S Dev Dutt Singh, alongside several other senior police officials and dignitaries.

Shri Mohanty, widely regarded as an ace philanthropist, was honored for his consistent efforts in supporting the welfare of police personnel through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of the MGM Group. His contributions have historically focused on enhancing the professional capabilities and personal well-being of the force. Notably, under his leadership, the MGM Foundation has previously sponsored English communication training programs for police personnel in partnership with the British Council to improve public interaction and professionalism.

The Naman 4.0 program served as a platform to bridge the gap between the police force and the public, featuring cultural performances and entertainment by Odia artists. During the event, the speakers emphasized the importance of corporate partnerships in strengthening the support system for frontline workers.

The MGM Group, which has a multi-decade legacy in mining and steel making, has increasingly diversified its CSR footprint under Shri Mohanty’s vision. Beyond police welfare, the group is actively involved in promoting sports infrastructure, environmental conservation, and educational scholarships across Odisha. The handover of modern medical equipment and high-tech ambulances to various police units in the past underscores the group’s commitment to ensuring that those who safeguard public peace have access to necessary resources for their own safety and health.

The evening at the 7th Battalion Ground concluded with a salute to the sacrifices made by the police department, with the felicitation of Shri Mohanty highlighting the vital role of humanitarian leadership in community building.
