Odisha Pitching Major Investments

New Delhi: Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi held a series of high-level group meetings with industry leaders from JSL, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), JSW Steel, and Tata Steel in New Delhi.

The discussions focused on strengthening Odisha’s metal downstream and chemicals & petrochemicals sectors through value-added manufacturing, deeper industry collaboration, and new investment opportunities, reaffirming the state’s commitment to fostering sustainable industrial growth.

The strategic dialogue forms a core part of Odisha’s aggressive push to transition from a primary mineral-producing state into a global manufacturing and value-addition powerhouse. By engaging directly with top corporate leaders, the state government aims to fast-track massive capital investments, expand downstream ancillary industries, and unlock employment avenues for local youth.

He was joined by Minister for Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education, Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Smt.Anu Garg, ACS Home, Industries and I&PR Shri Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary Finance, Shri Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra and others.

Odisha has rapidly emerged as one of India’s most preferred investment destinations, backed by progressive industrial policies, administrative transparency, and robust mineral reserves.

The state accounts for a significant share of the country’s steel, metal, and mineral output. In recent years, the government has focused heavily on the “Purvodaya” vision and its strategic two-coast economic framework, positioning hubs like Paradip and major mineral belts as epicentres for heavy engineering, green energy, and petrochemical complexes.

Recent milestones include multi-billion-dollar investments and joint ventures in mega steel manufacturing and massive dual-feed naphtha cracker facilities, establishing a strong foundation for comprehensive downstream industrial ecosystems across the state
