Odisha NIC Wins Gold

Bhubaneswar: The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Odisha, has been honored with the 19th National Digital Transformation Gold Award-2025 for its project, ‘Odisha Disaster Resource Network – Every Life is Precious,’ in the ‘Crisis Response Digital Innovation Award’ category.

The award was presented at the Digital Transformation Conclave, 2025, held in Bhubaneswar. Deputy Director General and State Informatics Officer Dr. Ashok Kumar Hota, along with Smt. Mamata Khamari, Deputy Director General, Shri Jayant Kumar Mishra, Senior Director (Technical), and Shri Ravindra Kumar Maharana, Director (Technical), received the prestigious accolade.

The Odisha Disaster Resource Network (ODRN) is a centralized Geographic Information System (GIS) based digital platform (https://odrn.nic.in/) developed for the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA). This innovative system is designed to significantly enhance disaster preparedness, response, and recovery across Odisha. It achieves this by efficiently tracking and managing critical resources, including human personnel, essential infrastructure, and specialized equipment needed during various disasters such as cyclones, floods, and droughts.

The State Informatics Officer extended congratulations and expressed gratitude to all involved for achieving this significant milestone, which further solidifies the digital transformation efforts benefiting both the state administration and the people of Odisha.
