Bhubaneswar: Capital City is all set to host a significant two-day National Conference on “Good Governance Practices” on July 17th and 18th, 2025. The prestigious event, a collaborative effort between the Government of Odisha and the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DAR&PG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, will take place at the State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhawan.
The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh, along with Chief Minister, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, will deliver pivotal addresses.
The conference is expected to draw a large gathering, with approximately 80-90 delegates from across India joining participants from Odisha. The aim is to foster a nationwide exchange of innovative and effective governance practices.
Day One: Focus on Prime Minister’s Awarded Initiatives and Odisha’s Innovations
The first day of the conference will kick off with Session I, “Prime Minister’s Awarded Initiatives 2024 – (Holistic Development of Districts).” Chaired by Shri Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary, DARPG, this session will shine a spotlight on successful district-level initiatives from Rajkot (Gujarat), Koraput (Odisha), Kupwara (Jammu & Kashmir), and Gomati (Tripura).
The Inaugural Session will follow, featuring key addresses by Shri Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha, and Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary, DARPG, Government of India. A film on the “PM Awarded Initiatives 2024” will be screened, and the “MGMG” (Minimum Government, Maximum Governance) will be officially released.
Post-lunch, Session II will delve into “Prime Minister’s Awarded Initiatives 2024 – (Aspirational Block Program).” This session, chaired by Smt. Sarita Chauhan, Joint Secretary (ARPG), will feature presentations on impactful initiatives from Gamharia Block (Jharkhand), Parappa Block (Kerala), Narnoor Block (Telangana), and Rama Block (Madhya Pradesh).
The day will conclude with Session III, titled “Innovations in Odisha Government,” chaired by Dr. S N Tripathi, Director General-IIPA. Collectors from Ganjam, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda districts will showcase their groundbreaking practices.
Day Two: Continuing the Spotlight on Award-Winning and Innovative Practices
The second day will commence with Session IV, “Prime Minister’s Awarded Initiatives 2024 – Innovation – State/Districts.” Chaired by Shri Surendra Kumar, ACS, GA & PG Deptt., Govt. of Odisha, this session will highlight presentations on the Uttarakhand Government Assets Management System (UK-GAMS), SHIKSHA SETU (Assam), Sugamya Pustakalya (Uttar Pradesh), and Digi Kaksha (Kurung Kumey).
Session V will then feature “Prime Minister’s Awarded Initiatives 2023/2024 (Multiple Categories),” chaired by Shri NBS Rajput, Principal Secretary to Governor Odisha. This session will cover initiatives from Tinsukia (Assam), Ganganagar Block (Tripura), Barpeta (Assam), and Barwani (Madhya Pradesh).
The conference will culminate in a Valedictory Session, which will include a screening of a film on PM Awarded 2023 initiatives, reflecting on the successful governance stories of the past year.
Dr. Tushaba Shinde, Director, DARPG, Government of India, will be coordinating the conclave, ensuring a seamless and productive exchange of ideas for advancing good governance across the nation.
