Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has sought support of the Union Government to attract International Investors and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for the State.
Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rightly recognized that Odisha can be the growth engine of the country in coming years and the State Administration will translate his vision through appropriate action.
Shri Singh Deo has sought assistance in engaging with International Investors and channeling FDIs in relevant sectors, adding he said that support of the Union Government has been roped in to make Odisha a Semi Conductor Hub.
The State has also sought dedicated and enhanced support from the Invest India to promote Odisha as a Prime Investment Destination, particularly Asian and European Markets.
Focus on large scale industrial infrastructure projects such as Industrial Parks, and Corridors Power Grids, Rail Infrastructure Dedicated Freight Corridors, Highways, Ports and Airports development will be there.
Major Central Projects, like Sagarmala Project, East Coast Economic Corridor and National Waterways-5, will be implemented, which would significantly augment Odisha’s Industrial Development, said he.
Assistance in fast tracking environmental clearances for industrial projects, while promoting sustainable practices and green technologies will be done in the State.
Facilitating Technology Transfer from leading National and International Institutions and establish Innovation Hubs to foster High Tech Industris are on cards.
Implementation of Special Schemes to promote Industries in Tribal and Rural Areas in Western and Southern Odisha will be on priority basis.
Dedicated funding in this regard for infrastructure development and skill training infrastructure in these region will be taken up with the support of the Union Government.
