Odisha Extends Vax Global Tender Period

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has extended COVID-19 Vaccine Global Tender period by 7 days in view of the requests from many prospective vendors, said ACS Health & Family Welfare, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra.

Mr.Mohapatra said that the Odisha State Medical Corporation (OSMCL) has notified the end of date and time of online bid submission till 4 June 2021 keeping their request and cyclones and also for greater participation.

In a bid to inoculate the state’s entire population, the State Government had floated an online Global Tender to procure 3.8 crore doses of COVID vaccines on 14 May.

OSMCL invited bids from the world’s leading vaccine manufacturers, an official said.

OSMCL Tender Notice notified that the qualified bidders can supply vaccines in four phases, and the State Government will issue separate purchase orders for each.

As per the provisions of the tender, the selected bidder will have to deliver the first 75 lakh doses in 30 days from the date of the purchase order, and complete the supply of 3.8 crore vials in 120 days.

The first pre-bidding consultation meeting was to be held through a virtual mode at 11 am on May 19 and the tender was to open at 5 pm on 28 May. Now this period is extended till 4 June , 2021.

Earlier the OSMCL had clarified that order of half of the total quantity will be awarded to the L1 bidder.

According to the tender document, the state government will offer advance payment up to 30 per cent of the value of each purchase order.

Final payment will be ensured within two working days from the date of receipt of each consignment, it said.

The State Cabinet had on 10 May approved the proposal to float a global tender for procurement of the COVID-19 vaccines.

Later on 21 May, State Cabinet in an effort to facilitate more bidders to take part in the Global Tender for COVID-19 vaccine procurement by the State Administration relaxed certain terms and condition in the Tender Documents, an official said.
