New Delhi: A wave of pride swept through Odisha today as four of its distinguished individuals were conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri award at a ceremony held in Ganatantra Mandap of Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu personally presented the coveted civilian honors, recognizing their exceptional contributions in the fields of Medicine, Literature & Education, and Art.
Among the esteemed awardees was the renowned doctor, Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, who was lauded for his tireless and exemplary service to humanity in the field of Medicine. Joining him in receiving the Padma Shri was Dr. Prativa Satpathy, a luminary in the realm of Literature & Education. The world of Art also witnessed two of Odisha’s finest being honored. The investiture ceremony, the first of its kind for the Padma Awards 2025, saw a total of 4 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan, and 57 Padma Shri awards being conferred.
