Bhubaneswar: The Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, has commenced a 40-day residential Induction Training Programme for newly appointed Accountants of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) here at the Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management (MDRAFM).
The comprehensive program was formally inaugurated by Shri Arindam Dakua, Director, Municipal Administration, who underscored the pivotal role ULB accountants play in fostering transparent and accountable urban financial systems.
“This training is crucial for strengthening their capacities,” stated Shri Dakua, emphasizing the need for participants to excel in financial management, urban governance, and practical field operations to effectively contribute to the functioning of Urban Local Bodies.
The training initiative aims to equip the new recruits with essential skills for robust urban financial management. The curriculum encompasses a blend of classroom sessions, practical field exposure visits, and hands-on exercises, designed for holistic capacity building.
Also present at the inauguration were Smt. Sikha Biswal, Financial Advisor to the H&UD Department, Shri Bibhudutta Acharya, Course Director of the training programme, and other senior officials from the Department and MDRAFM, who engaged with the trainees.
