Cuttack: In a significant stride towards bolstering cricket in the state, the Apex Council Meeting of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), held today at the OCA Office, saw President Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty at the helm, driving pivotal decisions aimed at fostering talent and enhancing infrastructure.

Under the astute leadership of Shri Mohanty, the meeting focused extensively on the establishment of the OCA Centre of Excellence, a flagship initiative designed to revolutionize cricket development in Odisha. This ambitious project comprises two key components:

  • The Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab Cricket Feeder Centre: A residential academy specifically tailored for Under-14 boys and girls, this center will serve as a crucial grassroots development hub, nurturing young talent from an early age.
  • The Sachin Tendulkar Sports Science Centre: The existing Sachin Tendulkar Indoor Hall is set to undergo a transformative upgrade into a high-performance hub. This cutting-edge facility will emphasize scientific training, advanced injury management, and holistic athlete development, providing Odisha’s cricketers with world-class support.

Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, presiding over the crucial deliberations, highlighted the OCA’s commitment to creating a robust ecosystem for cricket to thrive. His vision for the Centre of Excellence underscores a strategic long-term approach to producing future cricketing stars from Odisha.

In addition to these landmark initiatives, the Apex Council, under President Mohanty’s guidance, also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the eagerly anticipated Odisha Pro T20 League, signaling the OCA’s dedication to promoting competitive cricket within the state.

The meeting saw the active participation of other key members of the Apex Council, including Shri Jagamohan Pattnaik (Vice President), Shri Sanjay Behera (Secretary), Shri Prabhat Kumar Bhol (Joint Secretary), Shri Bikash Pradhan (Treasurer), Shri Pratap Chandra Pradhan (Member, Apex Council), Shri Rakesh Mohanty (Member, Apex Council), and Smt.
