Bhubaneswar: As part of its 5T initiative, the State Government has decided to set up smart classrooms in all Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) to enhance the quality of education as par with the private English medium schools.
Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) under Department of School & Mass Education is going to implement 2250 smart classrooms for enhancing the teaching learning process.
The focus is on enhanced interactivity in a classroom using Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on multimedia-based content resources platform known as Smart Classrooms are technology enhanced classrooms that encourage opportunities for teaching and learning by integrating technology solutions to enable educators to develop and share content in real-time/off-line, and empower student to play an active role in learning, sources said.
Similarly, the State Government has also decided to implement the CCTV surveillance system at 199 schools of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) soon. To enhance the safety and security of the students, the Department has decided to provide CCTV surveillance in the schools, sources said.
In June this year, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had inaugurated 13 academic and 28 hostel buildings and laid foundation for 276 hostels of OAV Sangathan. He had said that Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) would transform into centres of excellence (CoEs) in the coming days.
Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS), a society under Society Registration Act1860 of Odisha, under the Vidyalaya and Mass Education Department of Government of Odisha was established on September 19, 2015. This ambitious project of the Government of Odisha, aims to establish English Medium Vidyalayas with CBSE affiliation and with state of art building with all amenities at each of the 314 blocks of the State.
