Bhubaneswar: In a big relief for power consumers, the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) today informed that there will be no power tariff hike in the State for the financial year 2025-26.
Briefing Media persons here, OERC Secretary Priyabrata Patnaik said the retail power tariff has remained unchanged for the year 2025-26. The consumers who will opt for e-bill will get a rebate of Rs 10 per bill, he said.
Consumers with prepaid meters will get 4 percent rebate on prepaid amount and the LT domestic and single-phase general purpose consumers will continue to get 4 percent digital payment rebate, Patnaik said.
He further informed that the OERC has decided to waive off the charges of smart metres (Rs 60) with a connected load of up to 2 kilowatts. This would benefit over 80 lakh consumers across the State.
As there will be no power tariff hike in Odisha for 2025-26, the domestic users who use upto 50 units, will have to pay 2.90 paisa for each unit, while they have to pay 4.70 paisa for using between 51 and 200 units. Likewise, Rs 5.70 will be charged for per unit for consumption between 201 to 400 units and Rs 6.10 per unit for consumption beyond 400 units
Transmission tariff has increased from 24 paisa per unit to 25 paise per unit for the upcoming financial year, he added.
All the industrial consumers drawing power at EHT level will be eligible for a rebate of 20 paise per unit for all the units consumed in excess of 80 percent of load factor.
