Bhubaneswar: The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Bhubaneswar, organized the celebration of International Women’s Day on 12 March.
On this occasion, Dr. Mitali Chinara, Professor of Economics at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, and renowned Odissi dancer Sujata Mohapatra participated as Honourable Guests.
Both of them were engaged in an in-depth discussion on women empowerment and gender equality. They deliberated on how women are advancing in every field of society and how they can balance family and social responsibilities while pursuing their own interests.
The Deputy Director General of the National Informatics Centre and State Informatics Officer, Dr. Ashok Kumar Hota, highlighted the contributions of women officers at NIC in his address.

In the inaugural welcome speech, Senior Officer Sujata Das emphasized the 2025 International Women’s Day theme, “For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, and Empowerment.”
On this occasion, women officers organized a food festival and participated in competitions such as rangoli, jhoti, and painting to showcase their talents.
Earlier, on the 8 March, women officers organized a marathon from the Bhubaneswar headquarters to the Kalinga Stadium, which saw enthusiastic participation. The guests awarded prizes to the winners of the competitions.
The event was coordinated by Smt. Snigdha Acharya, Sarita Sahu, Mamata Khamari, Hemalata Saha, S. Smita, and other officers.
