Chatrapur, April 30: BJD Supermo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today filed nomination papers for the Hinjili Assembly constituency in Ganjam district for the sixth time in a row.
The Chief Minister visited Maa Taratarini temple and took blessings from the presiding deities of Ganjam district before filing nomination papers.
Naveen filed his nomination before the returning officer at the sub-collector’s office at Chatrapur in presence of 5T Chairman V K Pandian. Many senior leaders and MLA & MP candidates of Ganjam district have remained present at the sub-collector’s office here.
Like the last election held in 2019, the BJD Chief is contesting from two Assembly seats this time. Apart from Hinjili, he is also contesting from Kantabanji MLA seat in Western Odisha.
Meanwhile, BJD Organisational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das has also filed nomination for Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat. Holding a mega procession of supporters, Shri Das filed the nomination paper before the Returning Officer at Sambalpur Collectorate this afternoon.
Senior BJD leaders and MLA candidates Rohit Pujari and Nalini Kanta Pradhan were present when Shri Das filed the nomination paper.
The Chief Minister wished the BJD Organisational Secretary very best for the election and was confident that he would win the poll. “All the best Bobby…I am sure, you will win,” Shri Patnaik told Shri Das in a video message.
Shri Das, a three-time MLA, is contesting for Lok Sabha seat for the first time and he is fighting for the seat against senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
