Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and BJD Veteran Ananga Udaya Singh Deo, who are close friends since childhood once again came closer for the development of Bolangir.
All credit goes to the Twin Poll, which again brought the two top guns together to work unitedly for the betterment of Bolangir and its people.
It was an emotional moment when the entire Balangir Royal family were there at Manoharpur helipad to welcome the Chief Minister.
Along with Ananga Udaya Singh Deo, his wife Vijaya Laxmi Devi, Son Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Daughter in-Law Meghana Singh Deo, and son Mannath Vijay Singh Deo have welcomed the CM and 5T Chairman V K Pandian and taken a snap with them.
AU Singh Deo and Naveen Patnaik have always maintained cordial relationship since long long time.
Now both the tall leaders of Odisha once again came together and were seen working together in one frame.
After Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced his candidature from Kantabanji Assembly constituency in Balangir district, AU was the happiest person in the entire State. AU was so happy that he distributed sweets among people on the very day.
He has also predicted that his party Biju Janata Dal will break the all-time record of former Chief Minister and Legendary Leader Biju Patnaik in the 2024 Assembly elections.
Shri Singhdeo was present on the nomination day at Titilagarh, when Chief Minister Shri Patnaik presented his Nomination Papers to the Sub Collector, Titilagarh along with Kalikesh.
There it self, Chief Minister asked AU to ensure win of Kalikesh in a big way in Balangir. It seems Shri Patnaik is very fond of Singh Deo Jr.
Notably, Biju Patnaik led Janata Dal had won 123 seats out of 147 MLA seats in 1990. The main opposition party Congress’ strength was reduced from 117 to 10. In the 2019 polls, the BJD had won 112 seats.
AU Singh Deo is the Doon School mate of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and both the leaders have joined together in their political journeys.
AU is the youngest son of former CM and Balangir King Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo while Naveen is the younger son of former CM and Legendary Leader Biju Patnaik.
AU started his political career after being elected as Bolangir MLAs in 1974. He was re-elected from the seat in 1990 on Janata Dal ticket and became a Minister in Biju Patnaik’s Cabinet.
When a political void was created in Odisha after the demise of Biju Babu in 1996, AU along with some of his friends brought Naveen Patnaik to Odisha and joined him in the politics with the formation of Biju Janata Dal.
The BJD Veteran has played a key role in the formation of the BJD. The ruling Party has now changed the entire picture of Odisha in the entire country.
Though many of the founder members of BJD, have distanced themselves from Naveen Patnaik and his party, AU still stands close with the Naveen Patnaik and extends him all out support for the development of the State.
In 2019, when AU had decided to leave the political field for his sons, his closest friend Naveen Patnaik stood by him and gave two tickets to his two sons.
In this election, Kalikesh, a tough candidate is fighting the election from Balangir MLA seat while CM is standing from Kantabanji seat. Now, both the childhood friends again came to closure, which is a good sign for Balangir, political observers feel.
