Bhubaneswar: BJP President and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda will arrive here on a two-day visit to launch the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and address party MLAs and MPs among other programmes.
Shri Nadda will arrive here at Biju Patnaik international airport at around 1 pm on a two day visit, informed BJP State President Manmohan Samal.
Soon after arriving here, he will visit Cuttack where the Union Minister will launch the Ayushman Bharat scheme along with ‘Ayushman Vayo-Vandana Yojana’ and the state’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) in presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in a special event at Cuttack, he said.
Around 3.5 crore people in Odisha are expected to benefit from these schemes, Shri Samal said.
During his Cuttack visit, the Union Health Minister will also inaugurate the new building of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Pediatrics, officials said.
Shri Nadda is also scheduled to visit AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) here, he said.
On April 12 mornings, the BJP National President will inaugurate a three-day training programme of all BJP MPs and MLAs in Puri, the BJP leader informed.
The training programme in Puri will be held from the evening of April 11 to April 13, he said.
According to official sources, two deputy chief ministers, K V Singh Deo & Pravati Parida along with state health minister Mukesh Mahaling would attend the special programme at Cuttack.
Senior state ministers including revenue minister Suresh Pujari, Law minister Prithiviraj Harichandan and panchayati raj minister Rabi Narayan Naik will launch the schemes at 12 different districts of Odisha.
Officials said nearly 3.50 crore people of 1.03 crore families in Odisha will benefit from the two health assurance schemes. The beneficiaries will get free cash-less treatment in 29,000 registered private and government hospitals across the country. Earlier, the facility was available in only 900 hospitals.
In addition, the central scheme ‘Ayushman Vaya-Vandana Yojana’ will also be implemented in Odisha for all persons aged 70 years and above, irrespective of their economic status, they said.
Health coverage up to Rs 5 lakh will be provided to each family, while additional assistance up to Rs 5 lakh will be provided to female beneficiaries of the family. If there is a beneficiary above the age of 70 in a family, the maximum health coverage of the family will rise to Rs 15 lakh, the officials said.
Last month, the state cabinet approved a budgetary allocation of Rs 27,019 crore for implementation of Ayushman Bharat and GJAY for a period of five years.
