Bhubaneswar: BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda today slammed the Congress and left parties accusing those who have lost their direction.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP and NDA have worked for the betterment of the country, whereas the constituent parties of the INDI Alliance have increased corruption and empowered anti-national elements, he said while addressing at a special programme organized by the party for membership drive.
The Congress has become the spokesperson for Urban Naxalism and has allied with parties advocating for the reintroduction of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
In contrast, the BJP, which asserted that “Ek Desh Mein Do Nishan, Do Vidhan aur Do Pradhan” is unacceptable, has a longstanding commitment to this principle.
Under the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee initiated a significant yatra in 1952-53 to advocate for its abrogation. In 2019, under the exemplary leadership of Prime Minister Modi Ji and the adept skills of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Article 370 was abrogated on August 6th, officially making Jammu and Kashmir an integral part of India, he pointed out.
The BJP National President mentioned that nearly 200 laws of India were previously inapplicable in Jammu & Kashmir, including the absence of reservation for Scheduled Castes and Valmikis.
Shri Nadda remarked that the Congress party has never accorded the same level of significance to its membership program as the BJP does. This highlights the seriousness with which the BJP approaches membership. Membership in the BJP is transparent and digital.
The BJP is the only political party that is National, Democratic, ideology-driven, and organized around a robust cadre system, boasting the highest mass following, he added.
This process only happens in the BJP, not in any other political parties. This is why there is no hierarchy or dynastic politics within the party; a leader emerges who is connected to the grassroots and comes from a humble background.
“No other political party operates on ideology like the BJP. Mahatma Gandhi urged the disbanding of the Congress after India’s independence in 1947, but his words have been overlooked by Congress leaders, resulting in a departure from the party’s foundational ideology,” Nadda stated.
The BJP leader further stated that the Left parties, which started with one ideology, have diverged significantly from their original path. Notably, while the Left and Congress are opponents in Kerala and West Bengal, they present themselves as allies in Delhi.
Shri Nadda said that the Supreme Court has called for a ban on triple talaq, yet the Rajiv Gandhi government attempted to present a bill to overturn this Supreme Court order and amend the Constitution.
Triple talaq does not exist in countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, and Indonesia, which are all Muslim-majority nations, while it continued to thrive in India under the guise of secularism, he said.
As a cadre-based party, the BJP has recorded 18 crore members last year. In the BJP, everyone from the Prime Minister and National President to each Karyakarta is required to renew their membership every six years, ensuring a strong and accountable organizational structure.
Today, the BJP boasts over 10.40 lakh booths, with more than 8 lakh 40 thousand having an appointed President. Additionally, there are over 1.5 lakh Shakti Kendras and more than 15,000 Mandals operating across India, all functioning on a robust cadre-based structure, the BJP chief said.
BJP National President stated that the party currently has 350 MPs, over 1,500 MLAs, and more than 7,000 Mayors, Zila Parishad chairpersons, and Block Samiti members.
