Bhawanipatna: BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda strongly criticized the style of functioning of BJD Government alleging that the entire administration has been outsourced. He also alleged that 50 percent PC culture is rampant in the State.
Addressing a public rally here, Shri Nadda said despite being ruled by the BJD for the last 23 years, Odisha is still in the lowest rank in the per capita income as well as in farmers income while the atrocities on women are highest in the country.
Shri Nadda said Naveen Patnaik had promised to establish one cold storage in each block and provide 35 percent irrigation facilities in each block and asked the people has it had happened during the last 23 years?
Stating that there has been massive corruption in the selection of beneficiaries in the PM Aawas Yojana in Odisha, the BJP President said, “Ineligible persons are getting houses. There will be a probe. I will speak to Union Minister Giriraj Singh. Those involved in the scam will be put behind bars” he said.
The Naveen Patnaik Government doesn’t want the Ayushman Bharat benefits to reach the people of the State, alleged Nadda.
Out of 4.5 crore people of Odisha, Modi government is providing free foodgrains and ration to 3.5 crore people, he said, adding, “During last 23 years of government, Naveen Babu has taken Odisha to such a lower level. The per capita income and farmers’ income in Odisha lowest in the country while it tops in incidents of crime against women.”
He also alleged that the BJD Government in Odisha is also indulging in massive corruption and commission. “This is a government of commission where 50 percent commission is being taken away in every work and nobody knows where this 50 percent commission goes?”.
Shri Nadda questioned who is ruling Odisha? whether a politician or a bureaucrat? Even MLAs and MPs from BJD party have any power and nobody is listening to them. What kind of government is it?, he asked.
“Naveen Patnaik has sublet everything to officers. The total administration has been outsourced here,” said Nadda without naming anybody.
“You(people) have given votes to someone while some other one is ruling the State. Do you want this type of government to run the State?,” he asked the people.
He called upon the people to reject this government which has no right to rule the state anymore and bring the BJP and the double engine government to rule Odisha.
Criticizing the opposition’s unity in Patna, Nadda said it is the same Lalu Prasad Yadav who was sent to jail for 22 months by Indira Gandhi, grandmother of Rahul Gandhi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was sent to jail for 20 months by Gandhi.
The BJP President said he heard that Uddhav Thackeray reached Patna to attend the opposition meeting. Uddhav’s father and ‘Hindu Hriday Samrat’ Balasaheb Thackeray was a strong opponent of Congress and he would never let Shiv Sena become Congress and he would rather choose to close his shop if he had to align with Congress, Nadda said.
“Now, Bala Sahab Thackeray must be deriding himself that no one else, but his son has closed his shop. It is a strange politics,” he said.
He wondered seeing the change in stand of these political parties, saying from where these parties were started and where they landed today.
However, he said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the country a new political culture, that is politics of development. Modi has rescued the country from dynastic and vote-bank politics and put it on a development path.
“Now, the Modi government believes in report card politics, not vote bank politics. We have delivered what we had promised, we will surely deliver what we are promising now…we will also deliver what we never promised also,” Nadda assured the people.
Senior BJD leader and Minister Rajendra Dholakia rejected the allegation of Shri Nadda and said the government is running under the leadership and direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
