Bhubaneswar: Pramod Kumar Mishra, the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited Krushi Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
He was very happy to see the iconic structure of the Complex, which houses all the offices of the Department of Agriculture and Farmer’s Empowerment.
Arabinda Padhee, Principal Secretary, of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, and Prem Chaudhary, Director, Agriculture & Food Production welcomed Dr. Mishra to the Bhawan.
Following the welcome, the Principal Secretary to PM proceeded to the Krushi Samiksha Kendra- India’s first centralized monitoring system in agriculture.
Dr Padhee briefed Dr Mishra about the centre and how it is helping the farmers in the state through digital systems including pest management, digital extension, on-call artificial insemination, and scheme delivery.
These demonstrations were focused on how the state government has been able to leverage technology to provide inclusive and impactful schemes and services for farmers.
The forward-looking roadmap for digital agriculture in the State was also discussed with the focus being on Odisha emerging as one of the first states to implement an end-to-end technology stack in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.
Dr Mishra also visited the Millets Cafe in Krushi Bhawan. Dr Padhee, gave an overview of the success story of Odisha Millets Mission, with an emphasis on how it is improving the livelihood of tribal communities in the State.
Dr Mishra, who is in the State, has also visited Shree Jagannath temple in the evening and highly praised the Parikrama Prakalpa constructed by the State Government around the temple. He spent some time with the devotees and took their feedback about the project.
