Bhubaneswar: The second edition of Odisha Mining & Infrastructure International Expo Organised by Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt. Ltd was kicked off here today.
Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb inaugurated the expo and said, “Last year when Futerex organised the expo I asked them to make it an annual event. I am happy to see so many companies are participating in the expo.”
Earlier, Odisha has been wrongly positioned in global scale for its negative attributes, poverty, and unemployment. Now, Odisha investment growth surpassed 20 percent at national level, Shri Deb said.
“We are now among the highest in the mining sectors like bauxite, coal, iron Ore and other mining products. Odisha is getting maximum revenue from mining,” the Minister noted.
Expressing his happiness at seeing such quality participation in this Expo, Pawan Gupta, Director MSME, said, this platform is beneficial for the growth of the mining sector in Odisha. On this occasion, women entrepreneurs were awarded for their outstanding performance in their respective field.
The 4 day long trade show is scheduled to continue till February 18 at Baramunda Ground here from 11 AM to 8 PM daily.
Speaking on this occasion, Amit Dubey, Head Mining, AM/NS India, said, “In mining and steel making Odisha holds a key position in the World’s industry map. AM/NS India put its footprint in the state very strongly with its mining, beneficiation plant and steel making. AM’NS India is operating in the State with its steel plant at Paradeep as well work started for the proposed Mega Steel Plant at Kendrapara. We are committed to our growth plan in Odisha.”

Odisha Mining expo will showcase the largest and diverse range of mining machinery, equipment, advanced technology solutions, services and supplies from India and overseas.
This is the largest mining exhibition which brings together the key players of the market, contributing to the growth of the mining sector in India. Major International Companies, PSU’s, Government agencies and nodal agencies are participating in this expo. According to the latest reports, the State-wise Mineral Production in India 2023 shows that the largest producer of Minerals in India is Orissa with a share of approximately half of the total Mineral Production in India.
