Bhubaneswar: With an aim to groom young raw talents into Champions, MGM Group is setting up MGM School of Sports, Centre of Excellence for Cricket at Kapursingh, Gurudijhatia in Athagarh Subdivision of Cuttack District.
The Grand Opening of MGM School of Sports is on 15 February. Former International Cricketer Suresh Raina will inaugurate the Institution in august presence of Ranendra Pratap Swain, Minister Agriculture, Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development.
Guests of Honor, Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of Sports and Youth Service, Senior Lawmaker and President Odisha Cricket Association, Pranab Prakash Das, Former International Cricketer Pragyan Ojha will grace the Opening Ceremony.
Ashirbad Behera, Secretary Football Association of Odisha & Odisha Athletic Association and Sanjay Behera, Secretary Odisha Cricket Association will be attending as Guests of Honor.
MGM Group CMD and Chairman MGM Scool of Sports, Pankaj Lochan Mohanty will preside over the Opening Ceremony.
The amount of interest sports generates in the State is huge but most of the young boys and girls cannot pursue their dreams because most of them hail from very poor economic backgrounds.
This is where the MGM School of Sports is stepping in with the world class infrastructure and coaches in a bid to chisel the raw talents into champions.
The Center of Excellence for Cricket is committed to taping the potential of the youth for Cricket.
The ultimate aim is to get laurels for the state and country and the youth of this region will get scope for it, said Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, Chairman MGM School of Sports and CMD MGM Minerals Limited, who is promoting sports in general and cricket in particular.
Shri Mohanty, an ace philanthropist is also the Vice President of Odisha Cricket Association.
