Bhubaneswar: Holding first meeting with Secretaries of all Departments, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has asked the top Officers to start working for implementation of 21 major promises made by the BJP in its election manifesto.
Chairing the All-Secretary meet at Kharvel Bhawan on yesterday afternoon, the Chief Minister informed about the new Government’s approach and directed to prepare an action plan to fulfill the promises made in the election manifesto.
He wished for the cooperation of the senior Officers in achieving the goals of the government in order to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people.
“Our government is accountable to the people round the clock every day. Either as public representatives or as Government, we work to remain with the people,” he said.
Therefore, it is your responsibility to properly implement 21 promises made in the BJP’s election promises, he stated.
He suggested they discuss the budget requirement to fulfill the promises and to prepare a report on the current status of all those promises.
The Chief Minister said that Odisha is going to complete 100 years of its formation in another 12 years. In 2047, the country will also complete 100 years of independence.
“So, keeping both visions in mind, we have to prepare a vision-2036 for Odisha. What could not be done in the last 24 years, has to be done in the next 5 years. For its success, we have to work hard in these five years to achieve all our goals. By this Odisha can become a leading State in developed India,” Shri Majhi said.
He also suggested making the public grievance hearing programme more efficient and effective. If the Government will listen to the people and hold discussions with them, people’s trust in the government will be built.
“My government has also started working as a people’s government. There should be no wall between the people and the Government. The hope that has been created as people’s Chief Minister should remain intact,” the CM suggested to the Officers.
It is very important to resolve the problems that people come to us with. For this, the Chief Minister laid emphasis on appropriate monitoring systems with the use of technology.
On Odia Asmita, the Chief Minister said that “you should take steps so that every department can use Odia language in its work.”
He emphasized on the successful implementation of many popular schemes of the Central Government and all schemes of the State Government. The Chief Minister advised the Senior Officers to work dedicatedly and proactively to carry out these schemes in a smooth and effective manner.
“The Officers have full freedom to work for the development of Odisha. But you have to work within the boundaries of transparency and accountability,” he told Bureaucrats.
The CM said that the political will power of his Government is very strong. All the members of the Cabinet along with the two deputy chief ministers are the focal points of the Government.
Everyone’s participation in the decision-making process is our priority. Ministers and Officers of all departments, as well as the grassroots staff, are very important for the success of the government, he pointed out.
“We have to take the opinion of the opposition party seriously along with the ruling party members. The opinions of grassroots public representatives are also important,” Shri Majhi said.
He suggested that everyone should work as a team to achieve the goal of development of Odisha.
Stating that Odisha is now emerging as one of the major developing states of the country, the Chief Minister said, “We have started work with the aim of taking the State to the peak of development. We are committed to providing education, health, an anti-corruption environment, social justice, economic progress, tribal welfare and accountable governance,” he added.
In the end, he said that the determination and performance of the Officers towards administrative reforms and providing public services will take us to the top of success.
He expressed hope and confidence that the goal of building a developed Odisha will be achieved with their cooperation.
