Manoj Sahoo Moves To Odisha

New Delhi: An Ace Mandarin, Manoj Kumar Sahoo, presently, serving as Deputy Election Commissioner has been allowed for Inter Cadre Deputation to serve in Home State, Odisha.

2006 Batch IAS Shri Sahoo belongs to Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Personnel & Training for the Inter Cadre Deputation of Shri Sahoo.

Accordingly Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has notified his Home State Deputation on 16 November.

Shri Sahoo, who happens to be the youngest Odia to hold the crucial position of the Deputy Election Commissioner, was born in Singapur village of Balikuda block in Jagatsinghpur District of Odisha.

An IAS officer of high caliber and one of the most efficient bureaucrats is acknowledged for his honesty and integrity.

His service in the Ministry of Jal Shakti has given him the scope to know the villages of the country and scaling up Flagship Drinking Water Program- Har Ghar Jal, the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Shri Sahoo has long experience in handling sensitive assignments and development sector in both Government of India and in several States as Collector and District Magistrate.

He has handled Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman, as District Mahistrate and ADM in Diu .

Shri Sahoo has served long as DC in districts of West Siang, Kurung Kumey Arunachal Pradesh. time and again.

His love for tribal people is now remembered in Arunachal Pradesh and his service for the hilly region is appreciated also after a decade.

A pro-people Mandarin, Shri Sahoo is expected to be assigned a crucial assignment in the Odisha Administration.
