Bhubaneswar: Ace Administrator Manoj Kumar Parida has been appointed as the new Chief Information Commissioner of Odisha.
This appointment, along with the selection of other Information Commissioners, is set to bring experienced leadership to the state’s Information Commission.
Manoj Kumar Parida, an IAS officer of 1986 batch, has been named the new Chief Information Commissioner. His extensive career in administration is anticipated to bring valuable reforms to the office.
Retired IAS Pabitra Mandal, Retired IPS Pranabindu Acharya and Kalpana Pattnaik, a senior advocate of the Orissa High Court have been appointed as Information Commissioners.
These appointments are seen as a move to strengthen the Right to Information (RTI) framework in Odisha.
The diverse backgrounds of the appointees, including administration, law enforcement, and legal expertise, are expected to contribute to effective governance and transparency.
The Odisha State Information Commission operates under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
In essence, the Odisha Government has assembled a team of experienced professionals to lead the state’s Information Commission, with a focus on promoting transparency and accountability.
