Bhubaneswar: Shri Manoj V. Nair an Indian Forest Service officer of the 2001 batch has been appointed as the Member Secretary of the State Pollution Control Board in a major administrative reshuffle notified by the Forest Environment and Climate Change Department of the Government of Odisha today.
Shri Nair who is currently serving as the Director of Nandankanan Biological Park and the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests for Wildlife will continue to hold his responsibilities as Additional PCCF Wildlife alongside his new role at the pollution board.
This appointment is expected to bring a specialized conservation perspective to the state’s environmental regulatory body particularly in managing the impact of industrial activity on natural habitats.
In a related move within the department Shri Sanath Kumar N. a 2012 batch IFS officer has been promoted to the position of Director of Nandankanan Biological Park. Having served as the Deputy Director of the facility Shri Sanath Kumar will now lead the park’s management and its ongoing modernization projects.
The notification also detailed the assignment of Shri G. Rajesh an IFS officer of the 2001 batch who has been given the additional charge of Project Director for the Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project in Bhubaneswar.
Shri Rajesh currently holds the positions of Chief Executive Officer of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority and Additional PCCF for Planning Programme and Afforestation. Known for his reputation as an honest and hardworking officer his expanded role aims to enhance the execution of community driven forestry initiatives across the state.
These strategic appointments reflect the government’s efforts to utilize senior expertise in balancing industrial regulation with wildlife protection and forest development.
