Mallik Wins Power Prize

Dhenkanal: A student from PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Dhenkanal, Saumyajit Mallik, has secured the first prize in the national-level painting competition on Energy Conservation 2025, organized by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

The competition saw participation from students across the country in various categories. Saumyajit Mallik won the top honor for his painting in Category ‘A’ (classes 5-7). The theme for this year’s competition was “We are Pro-Planet People” and “Decide to Decarbonize”.

The objective of the event is to raise awareness among children and the general public about the importance of energy conservation and the need for judicious use of energy resources.

Saumyajit Mallik will be felicitated with a cash prize and a certificate of merit at a ceremony scheduled to be held in New Delhi, which is expected to be presided over by the Union Minister. This victory brings recognition to both the student and his school, PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Dhenkanal.

The school management and staff have extended their congratulations to Saumyajit for his achievement, noting that such recognitions encourage students to be creative and environmentally conscious.

The Ministry of Power continues to promote these initiatives as part of its efforts to instill a culture of energy conservation and sustainability from a young age.
