Mahajan On Edu Drive

Koraput: The Odia Pakhya 2026 celebrations, a 14-day state-wide cultural movement from April 1 to April 14, reached a significant milestone in Koraput today.

At the Government Upper Primary School in Padeiguda, the event specifically aligned with Khadi Chuan Day, a dedicated day within the festival calendar focused on the initiation of young children into formal education.

District Collector Shri Manoj Satyawan Mahajan led the Team Koraput initiative, which integrated the National Education Policy 2020 goals by focusing on early childhood enrollment and foundational literacy.

In line with the National Education Policy 2020, an Educational Awareness Chariot was launched today at the Government Upper Primary School in Padeiguda, Koraput, marking the celebration of Odia Pakhya 2026.

Alongside this initiative, the school hosted the Pravesh Utsav and Khadi Chuan ceremonies to welcome new students into the fold of formal education.

The Educational Awareness Chariot launched during the event is part of a larger district-wide effort to reach remote areas and encourage parents to enroll their children in school.

The distribution of learning kits and school bags was complemented by the Pravesh Utsav, a welcoming ceremony designed to make the first day of school a celebratory and stress-free experience for new learners.

This event in Koraput is one of several themed activities under Odia Pakhya, which also includes upcoming programs such as Ama Poshak Ama Parichaya for traditional attire, heritage runs, and campaigns to promote the Odia language in public spaces and digital platforms.

Under the leadership of Collector Shri Mahajan, the district continues to prioritize these educational and cultural campaigns to foster regional pride and improve literacy standards at the grassroots level.
