Bhubaneswar: In a profoundly emotional and historic milestone for millions of Shree Jagannatha devotees worldwide, the sacred land correction drive for the supreme deity, Shri Jagannatha Mahaprabhu Bije, Puri, has achieved remarkable success in Khordha district.
Acting under the strict directives of the State Government, the District Administration of Khorda has effectively protected the divine property of the Lord, which had previously been recorded under the names of various Marfatdars (caretakers). This monumental correction of the Record of Rights (RoR) marks a golden chapter in safeguarding the earthly assets of the Lord of the Universe.
According to official data submitted by the Khordha District Magistrate to the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, a staggering 4,728.357 acres of land spread across 796 distinct accounts (Khata) had been identified as the rightful property of Lord Jagannatha within various tehsils of the district.
Demonstrating an extraordinary pace fueled by administrative willpower and spiritual devotion, the land correction work for 4,713.225 acres across 785 accounts has already been successfully completed. The Khordha District Administration has assured that the remaining few accounts are being processed on a high priority basis and will be updated shortly.
This massive triumph is largely credited to Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
Known widely as an ardent and deeply devoted follower of Lord Jagannatha, ACS Dr. Padhee has consistently placed his soul into the mission of protecting the Lord’s land, treating it not just as an administrative duty, but as a sacred service. Under his inspiring leadership and meticulous guidance, the Sub-Collectors of Khordha and Bhubaneswar, along with all Tehsildars of the district, worked in perfect harmony to clear legal hurdles and accelerate the rectifications.
Expressing his deep devotion and commitment to the cause, ACS Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee stated that the Revenue Department remains fiercely dedicated to ensuring the absolute security, legal protection, and flawless documentation of all land belonging to Lord Jagannatha. He emphasized that active measures are being replicated across all districts of the state, noting that the spectacular success of the Khordha administration sets a beautiful benchmark for others to follow.
Revenue Minister, Shri Suresh Pujari, also extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Khordha Collector and the entire team for their relentless efforts. Observers note that the protection of the deity’s vast estates has gained historic momentum ever since the establishment of the dedicated Shri Jagannatha Mahaprabhu Land Cell within the Revenue Department.
