Leadership Program For Nepal Bankers

Bhubaneswar: Adding one more feather to its cap, Centurion University, Odisha in collaboration with Banking Finance and Insurance Institute, Nepal (BFIN) has organized a five days residential Leadership Development Program (LDP) from 24-29 August for the Regional Managers, Branch Managers and other Middle Level Executives of Nepal.

Nepal, being a rural agro based economy needs to strengthen its MSME sector by developing creative and innovative entrepreneurs. Keeping this in mind, the LDP aimed to familiarize the bankers the models of agriculture financing, priority sector lending and MSME lending, value chain model practiced in India.

Being inspired by the innovative centurion model of entrepreneurship development and its approaches towards developing smart villages, BFIN in collaboration with CUTM aims to develop knowledge and skills of the participants about the concept and need for rural and agricultural and other MSME financing as well as add value to the society.
Inaugurating the workshop Prof. (Dr.) Mukti Kanta Mishra, President, Centurion University
told that this LDP can be treated as an exposure visit so that lending to MSMEs can be done
efficiently to create good entrepreneurs.

He also stressed on collaboration of lending institutes with training institutes to enhance the skill of the loanee for successful advancement of the enterprises.

Similarly, Prof. Supriya Pattanayak, Vice Chancellor of the University highlighted how Centurion is actively focusing on skill integration into higher education and also affirmed that the University can train the entrepreneurs selected by the participants.

Director, Prof. Jaganath Padhi stressed that the participants must work to ensure that value addition happens in the society.
