Mumbai: Former Chief Minister and BJD State President Shri Naveen Patnaik, currently recuperating at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai following a successful spinal surgery for cervical arthritis, was visited by a delegation of senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leaders today. The visit underscores the deep concern and solidarity within the party for their ailing leader.
Among the prominent figures who met Shri Patnaik were former Union Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu, senior BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das, former Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, senior BJD leader Sanjay Kumar Dasbarma, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Member of Parliament Manas Mangaraj, MLAs Sanjeeb Mallick, Sushant Rout, Biswa Ranjan Mallick, and Dhrubacharan Sahu. Former MLAs Vikram Panda, Pranab Balabantray, and others were also present.
BJD Young Leader, Surendranath Mohapatra, who has wide base in Mumbai cordinated the visit and was happy to see his ailing leader Shri Naveen Patnaik in a hale and hearty condition.
The discussions at the hospital not only involved the BJD leaders but also included Shri Patnaik’s elder brother, Prem Patnaik, and the team of doctors overseeing his treatment, who provided a detailed update on his health.
According to Shri Dasbarma, party Vice President and Member of the Political Affairs Committee, Naveen Patnaik is recovering well from the procedure. He informed the Media that, with the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the prayers of the people of Odisha, the former Chief Minister is expected to make a complete recovery and return to Odisha in the first week of July.
The news of Shri Patnaik’s recovery has been met with widespread relief across the state, where citizens and party workers alike have been holding prayers for his well-being since he was admitted to the Mumbai hospital for the surgery on June 22nd. His personal physician, Dr. Ramakanta Panda, has also confirmed the success of the four-hour procedure and stated that Mr. Patnaik is stable, conscious, and responsive. Sources
