Berhampur: The Ganjam District Administration has launched a new initiative titled Ganjam Lakshya Niketan, a competitive examinations coaching institute aimed at supporting local students.
District Administration, under the leadership of Collector Shri V. Keerthi Vasan, has officially launched Ganjam Lakshya Niketan, a dedicated coaching institute for competitive examinations.
This initiative aims to provide free, high-quality guidance to civil services aspirants from the district, particularly those preparing for the UPSC and OPSC examinations.
The program has already shown significant success, with five candidates from Odisha who received guidance through the institute’s mock interview panels qualifying for the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025.
IGP Shri Niti Shekhar, Collector Shri V. Keerthi Vasan, SP Berhampur Shri Saravana Vivek M, and SP Ganjam Shri Suvendu Kumar Patra share their personal experiences and interview strategies with the students.
To ensure wide reach and merit-based selection, the administration conducted an entrance examination in January 2026 for an initial intake of 170 students, with a 50% reservation for women. Coaching centers are being established in Berhampur, Bhanjanagar, and Chhatrapur.
The district has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Delhi-based coaching institute to provide professional academic support, further strengthening the mentorship provided by the local administration.
The inauguration ceremony featured several prominent figures from the district administration and local government, who gathered to mark the opening of the facility.
The institute is designed to provide specialized coaching and guidance for various competitive exams, helping aspirants from the region achieve their career goals.
During the event, officials emphasized the importance of accessible and quality education in empowering the youth and improving their success rates in national and state-level examinations.
The launch event was held in a decorated hall with a digital display showcasing the institute’s mission and the collaborative effort behind the project.
