Uttarkashi: Labour and Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak today met the five workers from Odisha, who were safely rescued from the Uttarakhand tunnel.
The Minister, who has been there in Uttarakhand for the past few days, met the workers at Chinyalisaur Hospital, Uttarkashi, where they are under medical observation this morning.

All 41 workers including five from Odisha have been evacuated safely from the tunnel after a 17 days hectic rescue operation. The Odia five workers who were rescued from the tunnel are—Raju Nayak, Dhiren Nayak and Bisweswar Nayak from Mayurbhanj district, Bhagwan Batra of Nabarangpur and Tapan Mandal of Bhadrak district.
First the workers have been admitted in Chinyalisaur Hospital, Uttarkashi. Later, airlifted to Rishikesh’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for further medical examination.
The family members in Odisha are eagerly waiting for their safe return home. On Wednesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the hospital, spoke to the workers and gave them aid of Rs 1 lakh each.
