Bhubaneswar: With Time an integral part of State Government’s 5T Initiative, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange warned all his employees to be punctual to office otherwise, face the music.
All the employees of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation including the outsourcing, contractual and other staff will face tough action if they fail to reach the office in time.
ShrKulange has decided to mark their delay as ‘Absent’ and treat it as ‘No Work No Pay’.
As per an office order issued by the Commissioner, all staff including the Regular, DLR, CLR, Contractual, Outsourcing, and Consultants working within BMC will ensure to reach the office between 9:45 AM and 10:15 AM on each working day positively.
The civic body has warned that it would mark such employees as ‘Absent’ who arrive at the BMC office more than 15 minutes late.
“Any delay from the scheduled time beyond 15 minutes i.e. after 10:30 AM shall be marked as ‘ABSENT’ and treated as ‘No Work No Pay’, ” a BMC order read.
The move is aimed to ensure faster disposal of work and to enhance the work efficiency of workers within the organization, he said.
“The Government of Odisha has envisaged core fundamentals of 5T to be followed by every government functionaries within the state as a part of their policy towards sustainable and all-inclusive development of the State. Under these 5T fundamentals, time is one of the key parameters that must be adhered to and practiced for disposal of Government work,” read the order.
In order to develop such a practice, it is imperative to ensure arrival to the workplace within official time. Early arrival will not only lead to faster disposal of work but will also enable a healthier work-life balance that would enhance the work efficiency of each worker, he added.
Kulange has assigned four senior officers of BMC to supervise the attendance of the staff in their floor.
