Puri: Come Rath Jatra, a name reverberates among the sevayats, pundits and others engaged in seva of Lord Jagannatha- Dr.Krishan Kumar.
2002 Batch IAS Dr.Kumar, who was Chief Administrator Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) is now Joint Secretary Ministry of Commerce at New Delhi.
Though Dr.Kumar has left the State for more than one year to serve in the Union Government, however he is remembered by these people fondly, even today.
In fact when Dr.Kumar recently landed at Puri to have Darshan of Trinity in Rath Jatra and all of them welcomed the Ex-Chief Administrator SJTA with open heartedness. People flocked to him and talked to him at length about his wellbeing and other issues.
This is because, not only Dr.Kumar is an ardent devotee of Lord Jagannath, but also a very kind hearted and helpful administrator, said a Maharana Sevak.
He said we are small people, but during COVID-19 Pandemic, Dr.Kumar visited our homes and extended all out support, when other did not turned up for help.
A veteran Sevayat, echoed Maharana Sevak, who was all praise for his humane approach and kindness towards poor and needy people.
Facing lot of odds, Dr.Kumar in a determined manner organized successful Rath Jatra taking the support of sevayats and common servitors, said a veteran sevayat.
Dr.Kumar all along has been devotee of Lord Jagannath as his late pious father was always “Hari Naam” and his devotion towards Lord Jagannath was immense.
Dr.Kumar’s contribution for our wellbeing was really praiseworthy and his love and affection towards common men and women is commendable, said another senior Sevayat.
